I showed up unannounced to Anna's conformation training class with my untrained 1-year old standard poodle boy hoping to show him in just a few months. I knew nothing about conformation besides what I'd seen in some YouTube videos. I didn't even have a proper show lead. She took the time to send me links to the brands she trusted so I could get the best equipment to help my dog and me achieve success. After just a few classes with Anna, I learned all I needed to know to get started showing my poodle. I was impressed with the amount of time and care she took to work with both me and the dog, helping us to show our own best sides to the judge. Her keen eye and sharp attention to detail meant that I had specific homework to do over the week before our next class. My dog and I worked together at home in front of a mirror on free-stacking and as well as stacking, and in trotting on the show lead. Fast forward to June where my poodle and I entered our first conformation event with the IABCA. He earned four V1 scores from each of the judges, one each from Mexico and Japan, and two from the US. This means he earned his International Champion title. It's no AKC conformation title but it'll do for us! We did well in the ring! He stacked well and even did two pretty good free-stacks. I tried hard to stay aligned with the judges in my down-and-backs, and I took my time and space with the go-arounds, just as Anna recommended. I know what to work on going forward, based on Anna's expert feedback and clear, easy instruction. I highly recommend Anna for her conformation classes. I could see that there were experts in the class with veteran dogs, experts with new dogs, expert dogs with new handlers, and then me and my dog -- both of us newbies. The dexterity and grace with which Anna moved between the different combinations of experience, giving increasingly detailed feedback to those who needed it was truly a wonder to watch. I've been teaching (English to speakers of other languages) for almost two decades, and her ability to so seamlessly teach a mixed-level class was truly astonishing.

We asked Anna to take Lincoln on his daily walks, while my wife and I went on our honeymoon since the rest of our family was busy. Anna has been an invaluable resource for my daughter and I as we have both started our journey into AKC Confirmation. I first met Anna at her weekly confirmation class back in 2021 with my pug Mayhem. Confirmation was something I always was interested in but was completely lost at where to start and truthfully had no idea how much there was to learn. Anna was incredible at helping me understand the dog show world and always available and willing to answer my questions and help me navigate the Confirmation world. I started out in her group class but continued with her in hands-on, personalized private lessons and now have 2 finished Champions with her help. When my 8 year old daughter started to express interest in showing our pugs we turned to Anna for help. Having started in junior showmanship herself, Anna began private lessons with my daughter and her pug, Lucky. With Anna's patients, coaching and guidance, Kennedy started showing at age 9 with exceptional skills and understanding of what it meant to present her dog. With Anna's help Kennedy has also fallen in love with showing and has qualified for AKC Junior Showmanship Nationals in her first year out. I met Anna through a confirmation class at a local dog training center. I was learning how to show my dog myself. The classes were great, but I felt I needed some more personal help and so I engaged her to teach me privately. She was so incredibly helpful and showing me what to do as well as very encouraging. She is very experienced at showing dogs and so I knew I was in good hands. The best part of our appointment was her filming herself how to do it and also how I was doing it. She is an incredible teacher, and one of the best dog trainers I have ever found.

Anna is great. I remember seeing her with a dog she was training at a Philz coffee shop. I was waiting for my coffee inside and I noticed her outside with the dog for a couple of minutes doing some training. She ties his leash to a table/chair outside and comes inside to order. Dog is visible the entire time through the window and the dog is just quietly sitting. No barking, no whining/crying. She constantly keeps her eyes on the pup the entire time she’s inside. When she has her order, she goes back out and the pup is still calm!!! I was so impressed at how the dog kept its cool during that entire time. Truly takes some skill to master having a calm dog especially with a lot of distractions being outdoors and leaving them alone, although within visibility! Move over, Caesar Milan! Calm surrenders and separation anxiety can be solved with Anna.

Lily got another couple of points. But, much more fun, she got pulled out in group. There were six pulled from 13. She then got OHG4. OHG1,2,3 have all had group placements in regular group and one has an all breed BIS. I’ve been stacking her on walks every time we stop to talk to people. Some run their hand over her too. We ran into lovely Anna Diaz at a local restaurant @ Del Monte KC / Lone Cypress Vizsla Club specialty shows in Carmel. I mentioned that we had entered four pups to help build a major. All the pups won their classes on Saturday, so I expected the same on Sunday and needed help taking dogs into the ring for winners dog. She graciously agreed to meet me at 8:00 a.m. and took in the least experienced 8 month old puppy, Obi, and won his open class.... AND EARNED WINNERS DOG AT THE LONE CYPRESS VIZSLA CLUB SUPPORTED ENTRY FOR A 4-POINT MAJOR! photo to come soon! Thank you Judge Linda Robey. I just wanted to thank you for your SMDTC conformation class, which I attended with my Golden Retriever Flurry for 5 weeks. This past Sunday, Flurry earned her "Certificate of Conformation Assessment" title (CCA) at a CCA event in Rohnert Park. This title is offered by the national breed club, and it was the final requirement Flurry needed to earn her Versatility Certificate (VC). Your class was indispensable in prepping us for this event. In the group that went before us on Sunday, one of the people fell down in the parking lot while trying to gait her dog. This stuff is harder than it looks! Flurry and I breezed through the gaiting exercise, and then she held her stand like a pro while 3 different judges examined her. Because Flurry is from field lines, not conformation lines, making the best possible impression was important. Your class helped us do that. Thank you for helping us become another success story!

Just want to say thanks again for your help last year. Bristol earned her CH at Santa Barbara last August with a surprise Best of Breed over at least 5 specials, finishing with 3 majors. It was one of those amazing moments because the major had been broken and I was just hoping for a couple of points. The judge fell in love with her. The only 'bad' part was that I handed her over to a friend so that I could show Rose for best of breed. When a new puppy comes into the house you will see us again.

Orly and I are forever grateful for your mentorship and all the great training! We're building confidence now that she finished last fall and we're racking up points toward her Grand Champion title now!
